The Provincial Assembly is opened
Between 4 and 6 June 2008, the Augustinian friars of the Maltese Province gathered together in order to discuss how the monastic life could better imitate the ideal life, which our spiritual spiritual father, St. Augustine, left us and how it could be of prophetic witness to today's world. This Provincial Assembly, which is currently gathered in Mount St. Joseph (in Targa Gap), commenced with prayers in the chapel, where a request was made to the Holy Spirit, to continue directing the Augustinian Province in the correct path. Apart from the report, prepared by the Provincial, Fr. Lucjan Borg OSA, on the first day of this Intermediate Chapter, Fr. Ang Seychell was invited to give his reflection on the following theme: Kif nistghu nghixu t-tama quddiem l-isfidi tal-Knisja u tas-socjeta tal-llum? (How can we live hope and face the Church's and society's challenges today?).
The Maltese and Gozitan people are encouraged to pray for the success of this Provincial Assembly and so that the Augustinian Province of Malta will continue to be a light to today's world.
